It seems that as many elections as I have seen come and go, I still never lose that rush of excitement that comes from sitting down to participate in the future of my country.
As I marked my choices, I felt a sense of responsibility surging through my being. I do not take this job lightly…
I guess that is why I have no respect for those who do. All the Acorn nuts, the Daley-style politicians, the morons who stay home whining that their vote won’t count, the ones who try to make their vote count more than once, those who vote for a pretty face, a slick line, a political party, or a skin color…in other words, those who shouldn’t even have the same rights that real patriots have.
If you can’t recite three things that your candidate stands for, you should be turned away from the polls not to return until you can (and since both Presidential candidates have been promising change, that one doesn’t count).
I took an interesting test this morning sent to me by my sister. You are given two positions on the same issue, and after marking the position you most agree with on all the issues given, the results tell you which candidate you most agree with. I wish I could give this test to all my misled friends who talk one way and vote another.
Well, at least I found one of my favorite cigars on sale yesterday (the Carlos Torano Exodus 1959), so after voting, I went home and enjoyed one on the front porch. There is just nothing quite as good as relaxing with that victory cigar after doing the right thing…unless there is a good single-malt scotch in the mix!

I am still thinking that there will not be much celebrating after Tuesday for me, so I will enjoy it while I can. The polls still show Obama with a small lead, but it is getting closer. I’m just afraid it is too little too late. Well, I will just pray that Obama can do what he says he can, though I really doubt he even believes his OWN promises. I am guessing he goes to sleep at night by counting all the people he has lied to today.
Sleep well Barack. You will need the rest.

You've already voted??!! Now you have to wait longer than me to get the results! :-) Really liked this BLOG, and I, like you, will be praying that Obama does at least some of the countless things he's promising. I know you'll be tuned into every source of media coverage on Election Night. I've a feeling it'll be a long night!
I listened to fox and it sounds like the republicans have already quit and will not even vote. George Wills, Billy Crystal and even hannity whining that it should of been Hillery or Huckleberry.
They may as well stay home and play cards, drink there whiskey, smoke cigars, play golf, and go yachting. Don,t even bother to vote its over for dogsled dolly and grumpy.
