The more things change...

Change! Really?

Well, apparently not. Heard on the news this morning that Obama wants Hilary to head up his healthcare team. HELLO!!! Does he not remember that she has already had her shot at that and screwed it up?? And so far all the other appointees have been leftovers from the Clinton administration. So when is the “change” coming?

Actually, we are probably better off that he is choosing leftovers. Otherwise, we might very well have Tony Rezko as Housing and Urban Development chairman (with able assistance from the ACORN weasels) and Bill “Bomber” Ayers as Pentagon chief of staff. Perhaps the alleged Reverend Wright would make a good White House spokesman…

Now we are going to bail out the UAW. The automakers have been doing the exact wrong thing for decades, and now we are going to pay them many millions to do the same thing. We would be better off to let these bloodsuckers go down and start all over again.

The UAW says they have made all the concessions they intend to, so let’s just let these plants close the doors and see once and for all who really provides jobs, companies or unions. We will soon see that the jobs come from the very people Obama says he will tax the most. Actually, most of us knew that already. Go figure.

Be careful what ya ask for...

Listening in on G. Gordon Liddy Thursday and he related the contents of an email he received while he was doing his show.

Seems that a business owner with about 140 employees had been watching the economic and tax plans of both McCain and Obama closely to see how the plans would effect his business. The day after Obama was elected, the owner took a good last look at Obama's tax plan and made the painful decision that, among other changes he would have to make, he would have to lay off about 10% of his valued employees. He anguished for two days about who would have to go, and just couldn't bring himself to actually do the deed, but the reality remained that he could very easily lose the business if he didn't make a final decision soon.

To get some time alone to think, he just started walking around the building and grounds pondering which 14 people would have to go. As he walked through the employee parking lot, he saw eight cars displaying Obama bumper stickers.

Guess which eight people will get laid off first.

Is this the change you all wanted? I warned you to be careful, didn't I...but OOOOO NOOOOOO...

This is just one small company. Stand by for the REST of the story in upcoming posts.

You heard it here first...

Veterans' Day..."The View" From Here

Another Veterans' Day come and gone, and another year of war in the Middle-East continues.

I suppose no one in America still wants American troops dying in the deserts of Iraq for any reason, but even if we don't support the war or President Bush, we should still be supporting the troops.

This comes to mind because of my hearing this morning that Joy Behar of "The View" took time yesterday not to honor the troops, but to go on a partisan rant against President Bush and "his war". Now, I have never watched more than about ten minutes at a time of this show, because it doesn't take even that long to figure out where the political opinions of the cast lie. This is the ultimate liberal view of how "fairness" works; one lone conservative with three loony lefties constantly beating up on her. Why John McCain bothered to face this bunch of whining women I will NEVER know, but he did, with very predictable results.

So anyway, Behar spends what little time alotted to Veterans Day bashing Bush, the war, how much it costs, and on, and on, waah, waah, waah...(I only heard a tape later, OK?). On the other hand, I spent most of my day remembering all the men and women I know who served their country valiantly whether they "liked" the war or not. Good men have died face down in the mud so that Behar and her ilk could spew nonsense like she did yesterday.

Watched "Platoon" and "Apocalypse Now" for about the 20th time each. Thought about one friend who lost part of his hip and now can only walk with a cane, one who was burned badly in a napalm accident, another who bears scars of a different kind; the kind that haunt him at night and wake him up with tears streaming down his face. There are no words that could adequately say "thank you" to these folks; but I am DAMNED sure that the kind of crap coming out of Behar's pie hole yesterday serves no purpose save a little applause from a few women in the audience whose life is so boring that they actually stood in line to see this monumental waste of valuable TV time. And they want fairness? Looks to me like they already have plenty of loons spouting the same tired crap that accomplishes nothing. Thanks for nothing, Joy.

Papaws and Mamaws...

Hello boys and girls...long time, no blog. Been sick, some kind of sinus infection the doc says.

Shanty is back, and says the venom is spewing from "limball". Guess that would be russ limball, huh Shanty? Hard to believe they even let her vote, geez...

Y'know, I just had to feel sorry for Obama on election day though. Imagine winning the Presidency the day after your Grandmother dies. Man, that's a hard, bittersweet blow that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

I remember distinctly the passing of both my Grandmothers. My paternal Grandmother died three days before her 100th birthday. I guess she is responsible for my conservative roots. A lifelong republican and very devout Christian lady, she didn't tolerate any foolishness. Raised on a farm, later to become a farmer's wife, she had good, old-fashioned family values that stuck with all her kids and grandkids, for which I am profoundly grateful.

On my Mom's side, my grandparents were both born in the hills of Kentucky. My Grandfather achieved an eight-grade education, probably one of the more highly educated members of his family. But they had a kind of knowledge and wisdom that education can't provide. My Grandfather became pretty well off through a combination of hard work and good investments.

I don't remember much about my paternal Grandfather as he died when I was about six. He was another working man who farmed his land until the day he died.

What I do remember about all my grandparents was the fact that they all contributed what they could to my early years, and I can only hope to pass on the ethics, morals, and values they lived by daily.

Well, Veterans' Day is tomorrow, and I am flying my flags in their honor today. Missed church Sunday cuz of this stupid sinus infection. Hate to miss because that leaves the Music Ministry up to a darling 19 year old named Mandy, and I hate to leave her hanging out there, though the folks would much rather hear her sing than me, I allow...

Veterans' Day is very important to me, even though I am not a vet. It is somehow totally inadequate to let it come and go so quickly though. I wish there was a better way to say thanks to all who served.

Well, more about that tomorrow maybe.

Later.

GET OVER IT already...

Geez...everybody I know is wandering around like their rabbit died or something! So Obama won...let's give the guy a chance to fulfill his promises and hope he doesn't decide anyone with a real job is rich enough for the 88th floor tax bracket. We will soon see if the "change" is for better or worse. Watch who is named to the cabinet posts. That should give us an idea if he is who he says he is or just another looney lefty.

Of course, the supreme court really scares me. Two ready to go out and who knows how long the others will hold on. If Obama stays true to form, we will see activist judges who make the law, not interpret it. If that doesn't scare you, you haven't been paying attention OR you are to the left of Barney Frank. Obviously the framers of the constitution never intended for the supreme court to override the executive and legislative branches, but they have managed to do so many times.

We shall see soon enough.

Guess I shouldn't be shocked...

Wow...

Black Panthers with nightsticks blocking the poll entrance in Philadelphia, tens of thousands of military votes not counted in Virginia, early voters' names not being marked off the poll books all over the nation...what an end to a very strange trip.

In a nearby polling place, blank ballots were being initialed for the poll sheriff; what the h___ is that all about??

I'll tell you what it's about; our most precious right has been turned into a game of cheat and deceit. If poll workers can't follow the rules, they should be booted immediately.

If you think the Bush administration was corrupt, wait til Obama and his partners in crime take over. Along with Pelosi and Reid, sleaze will again rule the roost in ways that will make the Clintonistas look like pikers!

Well, when Israel whined for a king, God said "ya, sure" and gave them a real loser. Still we haven't learned to be careful what we ask for.

OK, I'm ordering a pizza, locking the doors, and loading the .45, cuz I bet it's one heck of a victory party!!

Later kids.

Oh, Gee...I just CAN'T decide...

I just heard that the latest Fox News poll has Obama up by a margin of 50-43. Hmmm...even Chitownshanty can figure out that 50 and 43 don't total 100. So what of the other seven percent?

Undecided, they say...but how in the WORLD could one be undecided at this point in the campaign?? Anyone who remains undecided at this stage in the game should immediately be charged with "living while stupid" and locked up until after the election is over. Of course, you could say the same for many of the Obama Mamas running amok out there...

This campaign has to be one of the most heavily promoted in the history of the free world. Obama has spent a record amount trying to get his smoke and mirror plans out there while trying to avoid any references to how he will pay for all the new free-flowing $$$. Scary...

So if any of you who read this remain undecided, please call me and I will decide for you...geez people, get off the dime here!!
