I suppose no one in America still wants American troops dying in the deserts of Iraq for any reason, but even if we don't support the war or President Bush, we should still be supporting the troops.

This comes to mind because of my hearing this morning that Joy Behar of "The View" took time yesterday not to honor the troops, but to go on a partisan rant against President Bush and "his war". Now, I have never watched more than about ten minutes at a time of this show, because it doesn't take even that long to figure out where the political opinions of the cast lie. This is the ultimate liberal view of how "fairness" works; one lone conservative with three loony lefties constantly beating up on her. Why John McCain bothered to face this bunch of whining women I will NEVER know, but he did, with very predictable results.

So anyway, Behar spends what little time alotted to Veterans Day bashing Bush, the war, how much it costs, and on, and on, waah, waah, waah...(I only heard a tape later, OK?). On the other hand, I spent most of my day remembering all the men and women I know who served their country valiantly whether they "liked" the war or not. Good men have died face down in the mud so that Behar and her ilk could spew nonsense like she did yesterday.

Watched "Platoon" and "Apocalypse Now" for about the 20th time each. Thought about one friend who lost part of his hip and now can only walk with a cane, one who was burned badly in a napalm accident, another who bears scars of a different kind; the kind that haunt him at night and wake him up with tears streaming down his face. There are no words that could adequately say "thank you" to these folks; but I am DAMNED sure that the kind of crap coming out of Behar's pie hole yesterday serves no purpose save a little applause from a few women in the audience whose life is so boring that they actually stood in line to see this monumental waste of valuable TV time. And they want fairness? Looks to me like they already have plenty of loons spouting the same tired crap that accomplishes nothing. Thanks for nothing, Joy.
